Scientists believe that by studying behavior of 3 years old children, we can predict if that child can become criminal in the future. To what extent do you think a crime is a product of human nature? Is it possible to stop children from growing to be a criminal?

Thanks in advance for your correction! :)

The science could foresee whether a child would commit a crime in a future or not by studying his 3 years old behavior. Personally, I believe that human nature is not totally responsible for creating a criminal and there many possible solutions to prevent children from growing to be a criminal.

Firstly, the negative traits may lead children to criminal path but the environment, education and upbringing certainly play more important roles to mould their future. For example, a child who is borned in a criminal family but adopted by an upper class family, where provide him a good education and an healthy environment, he would not have a chance to engage in any criminal activities and even achieve a high social status. On the other hand, a child prodigy who lives in a war zone will probably have no chance to develop his talent and might have to commit a crime to survive. Secondly, the scientist should learn both sides of the coin by taking children’s positive traits into account before conclusion. For example, there are many geniuses in history who express their negative traits such as antisocial or lack of sympathy in their childhood, but they possessed a high IQ and demonstrated special talent in their field in the adulthood.

In order to prevent the children from growing to be a criminal, the education and the family should collaborate closely to provide a healthy environment. If the scientist find out how the behaviors affecting children’s future, they will certainly find an effective educational method to correct them. By this way, education will weaken the negative traits and nurture the positive traits in every child. Additionally, family play a more important role in shaping children’s personality. The parents should become a role model for their children and teach them how to distinguish between right and wrong, which would create children’s strong moral compass in later life.

In conclusion, the biological characteristics might lead a child into the criminal path, but education and upbringing seems to be the appropriate solutions to solve this problem.
