The table below shows statistics about the top five countries for international tourism in 2012 and 2013.

The table shows information about two indicators: numbers of tourists and tourist spending in five countries namely France, the USA, Spain, China, and Italy in 2012 and 2013.
Overall, it is clear that both number of visitors and their spending in the given countries increased in the period shown, except for China. Furthermore, France has the highest figure for the number of tourists although the USA headed the table for the tourist expenditure.
Looking at the details, France was ahead of the remaining countries regarding the number of tourists with 83 million in 2012 and slightly higher in 2013 with 84.7 million. The lowest figure belonged to Italy with 46.4 million in 2012 and 47.7 in the year after. China was the only country that had the number of tourists that decreased from 57.7 in 2012 to 55.7 in 2012.
Being the second most popular country to be visited, the USA, however, had the highest figure for tourist spending, starting at $126.2 billion in 2012 and finishing with $139.6 billion in 2013. Tourist expenditure in Italy, the least popular country to visitors, had the lowest figure in both 2012 and 2013 with $41.2 billion and $43.9 billion respectively.
