As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people think that besides generating profits, enterprises need to do activities contributing the community’s development. I completely agree that they should conduct business responsibly with society.
On the one hand, generating profits is the central goal that all companies attempt to achieve. In fact, to maintain business activities and grow the business, companies need to make a huge profit. When generating profits, they could reinvest in equipment, technology, and human resource to build sustainable competitive advantage with other companies. Moreover, if a company has business losses in many years in a row, it can be bankrupt at any time. This could affect negatively workers such as making them lose their jobs. In summary, if a company wants to survive, it needs to make a significant amount of money.
On the other hand, companies should also have social responsibilities. Firstly, they should operate business activities friendly environmentally to guarantee their economic development no to against the community’s benefit. Secondly, companies also need to contribute to the development of human society by taxes. Indeed, since they have used the conditions of society; such as infrastructure, public service, and human resource; to operate their business activities, they need to raise money for society to grow those things. Finally, carrying out social activities could help companies develop their public images. This may make those companies generate much revenue because consumers tend to buy goods produced by such companies.
In conclusion, I really believe that although companies need to make plenty of revenue to exist, they should make contributions for the advance of society.
