The maps compares some changes to the development of West park secondary school over a period of 60 years.
Overall, it is evident from the data recorded that West park secondary school experienced considerable changes during the different time in the periods shown (1950, 1980 and 2010). The most noticeable differences between three maps are the main road was remained unchanged, disappearance of houses and expansion of car park.
As can be seen from the maps, from 1950 to 1980 there was a resident houses located in the south of the main road was knocked down to make way for new car park and science block. Similarly, a farmland in the south of the houses was destroyed to give way for a sports field. The school had new main building and the playground was remained stable.
Turning to other features we can see that, from 1980 to 2010 the car park and sports field were demolished to make way for big car park. The sports field was (moved) relocated to the playground area and became smaller. The playground was narrowed too. The science block and school were remained stable.
