It is better for student to live away from home while studying at university than living with parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that students normally have to face a difficult choice of on-campus living or staying with parents when stepping into their university life. Many people argue that students should live away from home to pursue the tertiary education, while I suppose that commuter students also gain certain advantages when deciding to living with their parents.
There are a variety of reasons why students should choose to live in a dorm or in a shared rental houses. One reason is that undergraduates could be taught how to make a living in their own in a parent-free environment. Only staying without parents, will students take care of themselves and show a sense of responsibility. Furthermore, by dint of amenities and facilities around student residential halls, the campus life becomes more convenient. For example, instead of walking a long distance to reach a local market, residential students could go to a mini-grocery located near the dorm to buy food or stuffs they need.
However, staying with parents also brings several benefits. Firstly, students could save a large amount of money for their living. Because of living with parents, commuter undergraduates could reduce the expenditure on living quarters. Secondly, a private house offers students their own spaces where they will avoid annoyance from their roommates, especially noisy parties. This helps them to concentrate totally in their studying and enhance their educational performance.
In conclusion, although many undergraduates would like to experience the campus life, some others still choose to live with their parents during their studies in the university.
