W1 – the graph below show female unemployment rates in each country of the UK in 2013 and 2014
The bar chart illustrates data on the percentage of unemployed women in the four countries of the UK from 2013 to 2014.
Overall, there was a small decrease in female unemployment rates from 2013 to 2014 in these countries of the UK, but Scotland was on the other side.
In 2013, England had the highest unemployment rate at 6,8%, which is opposite to Wales, with a rate of 5.4%. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, the percentage of women out of work was 6.1 and 5.6% respectively.
In 2014, a decrease in the percentage of unemployed women was seen in both England , Wales and Northern Ireland. Especially, Northern Ireland `s unemployment rate declined significantly by 1.0% and this country had the lowest unemployed women rate in 2014. By contrast, Scotland was the only country had an increasing percentage of unemployed women by 0.6% from 2013 to 2014, making the highest female unemployment rate at 6.7%.
