The line graph compares the figure of foreigners in three distinctive areas of a European country and how these figures changed from 1987 to 2007.

Overall, the number of foreigners of three areas increased over the period of 20 years. Although there are a general growth in the 3 trends, the number of foreigners in the Lake – Mountain was higher than the others.

In the 1987 – 2002 period, the number of foreigners in the Coast fell to below 40 thousands people, then recovered steadily to above 60% in the 1999s before a light increase to approximately 62 thousands people in 2002. By contrast, the number of foreigners in the Lake – Mountain climbed continually with nearly 15 thousands people every 5 years from 1987 to 1999, and increased significantly to 75 thousands people, which was its highest point during the 20 years period. Although the number of foreigners in Series 3 fluctuated between 20 and 30 thousands people in the first 10 years and reached a peak of exactly 30 thousands people in 1999, it still dropped back to nearly 25 thousands people in 2002.

Throughout the 2002 – 2007 period, the number of foreigners in the Coast suddenly decreased to approximately 65 thousands people, which was higher than the others after all. In the Lake – Mountain area, the number of foreigners increased to 70 thousands people before dropping to about 55 thousands people as the second rank. The lowest number of foreigners was of Series 3, yet it had a growth of 10 thousands people by the year 2007.
