At a glance at the pie chart provided reveals three main reasons why land gets less effective. Europe area was affected the most by this phenomenon while North America seems get affection little.
Over-grazing accounted for just over a quarter, 35%, was the main reason for the soil degradation; and this happened the most in Oceania region accounting for 11.3% of the total land degraded of this area(13%). Deforestation was the second reason for degradation of ground in the world, approximately a quarter – 30%; Europe forest was destroyed the most with 9.8%, compare to Oceania (1.7%) and North America (only 0.2%), this made Europe be suffered the most by land damage, with 23% in total. Over-cultivation was the remaining reason of these primary reasons which made the land become less useful, with 28% over the world. Over-cultivation caused the largest damage in Europe area accounting for 7.7% while it did not affect in Oceania at all.
