The flow chart illustrates the process of producing cocoa beans in order to export to make chocolate in other countries.
There are 4 main stages in the process of preparing cocoa beans included 7 smaller steps beginning with fermentation of the beans and ending with exportation.
The process commences with fermenting. First, the ripe pod is seperated to remove the beans and pulp. The next step is spreading the beans on banana leaves which will be left 6 days in the sun until the beans turn from purple to brown. After reaching the right color, the beans are dried on the raised mats for 10 to 20 days before being packed in big sacks.
In the following stage, the beans sacks are brought to local agent who will weigh and check if the beans meet their quality requirements before purchasing from farmers. The goods are delivered to the port and exported abroad.Attachments:
