The line graph compares the proportion of people who used the Internet in America, Canada and Mexico from 1990 to 2009.
Overall, all three countries experienced the growth of Internet usage, with the percentage of Internet users in Canada being the highest increase, followed by that of the USA and the figure for Mexico witnessed the lowest increase over the period shown.
In 1999, there was around 25% of Internet users in the USA, which is the largest rate among three nations, whereas those of Canada and Mexico were approximately 15% and 10% respectively. After experiencing small fluctuated periods with a significantly increasing pace, the figures for American and Mexico crossed in 2005 at around 70%. At the same time, the rate of people who used the Internet in Mexico still stood at a lower position, about 35%.
The internet usage in Canada witnessed a surge and reached the peak of all three countries, just under 100% in the end of the period, followed by that of the American, approximately 85%. With lower increasing pace, the figure for Mexico climbed to just a half of that of Canada in 2009.Attachments:
