A glance at the line graph illustrates the proportion of the British using latest device, namely CD player, DVD drive, cell phone and Internet access from 1994 to 2008.
Overall, the figure for all of modern technologies has an upward trend over the period shown. Moreover, CD player made up the biggest share while the least was the Internet.
To begin, there was a dramatic incline in access of CD player from about 50% in 1994 to 60% in 1996 and then steadily rose to 80% in 2002, after that leveled nearly 85% in 2008. Likewise, Internet connection increased rapidly from 10% to 40% in 2002 and reached a peak at 65% in the same year.
Furthermore, as regards the access to DVD player improved sharply between 1998 and 2006 from 30% to 80%, then experienced a slight increase to approximately 87% in 2008. There was a wide fluctuation in the use of mobile phone beginning from 1996 at closely 20% and the trend went up to 80% in 2008.
In conclusion, these equipments were very popular in British life, especially CD player played a crucial role.
