The provided line graph compares the death rate because of cardiovascular
disease between men and woman in the Unite State from 1979 to 2001.

Overall, the mortality in thousands of males followed a downward trend
while that of females showed some significant fluctuation during the same
      period.

In 1979, the cardiovascular disease death rate of male and females started
at approximately 470 and 500, respectively. However, while the figure for
female reached a peak at over 500, that of males witnessed a sudden
decrease to about 470 in 1987.

Moreover, from 1987 to 1991, the death rate of man as well as woman showed
an extraordinary decline to about 440 and 480, respectively. By contrast,
the year 1993 marked some dramatic increase of these figures. However,
while the cardiovascular disease mortality for males reach a peak at nearly
520, the figure for opposite gender experienced a gradual drop to below 440
      in the last year.
