The bar chart illustrates the total sales in the world (in billions of dollars) of four seperated kind of digital games from 2000 to 2006.
Overall, Handheld Games remained the highest position in sold products among 4 types of digital games. While the Console Games decreased gradually over the period of 7 years, there was a dramatic growth in sales of Mobile Phones Games and Online Games in those years.
In 2000, there were only 2 kind of video games, they were Console Games and Handheld Games. The number of Handheld Games had been sold in that year was quite high at approximately 12 billions dollars. The sales of Console Games was much lower than the other type, the figure was just 6 billions dollars and they remained at the same data in the following year.The speed of sales of Handheld Games increased quite fast from above 12 billions dollars in 2002 to the peak point at 18 billions dollars in 2006. Unfortunately, the sales of Console Games went down steadily every year. The lowest figure was 3 billions dollars in 2006.
Mobiles Phone Games and Online Games started to appear from 2002, the figures at that time were 1 billions. But in the following years, the sales of them climbed up very fast, from nearly 3 billions dollars for both of them in 2003 to above 6 billions dollars (Mobile Phone Games) and 10 billions dollars ( Online Games) in 2006. Although Online Games at first did not inclined as fast as Mobile Phone Games, but inj the end, it was sold much more than the other one.
