Some people feel that it is always wrong to keep animals in captivity, for instances in zoos. Other people say that there are benefits for the animals and for humans. Discuss both sides of this debate, and give your personal view.
——————————————————————————–People have different views about whether imprisonment of animals, for example in zoos is unethical or is beneficial to animals and humans. While zoos play an important roles in wildlife conservation and benefit human beings, I believe that freedom is more important for animals and living by their own way in their natural habitats is their rights and that helps them to have better longevity.
On the one hand, keeping animals in captivity like zoos or animal parks provides some advantages for both animals and humans. Firstly, zoos offer a secure and peaceful setting for animals which helps to protect endangered species. Animals do not need to hunt for foods or raising their off -springs. They also are not in danger of being poached in the wild. Secondly, zoos allow scientist to study about animals; which is useful for education system. Finally, zoos will create job opportunities for humans and this eventually benefits the society.
On the other hand, there is nothing better than a natural environment for anyone, be its humans and animals. Anyone including animal should be respected and given freedom. Although zoos or animals parks are trying to offer a quality life to animals, it is still not a natural life. The artificial environment in zoos will undermine animals’ mentality and physical growth. Animals will lose the survival extinction and only can roam around the limited space of zoos to serve the benefit of public viewing. These limitations will make animals unhappy and restless. As a result, their expected life duration will be shorten. Therefore, I believe that zoos or animal parks are not the ideal places for animals to grow and people have no rights to use animals for entertainment and profit.
In conclusion, I can understand why animals are kept in captivity, but it seems to me that natural habitats are the most important to animals to live longer and happily.Attachments:
