The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

It is obviously that the different lifestyles and thoughts between two generations are constantly a matter of controversial topic. While I agree that some traditional opinions are out of date, I believe that others still remain its value in modern era.
On the one hand, many opinions of elderly people are incompatible at the present time. Firstly, they believe that finding a secure or stable occupation is the most important problem after graduation. However, recent years, the work market has a lot of fluctuations. The fact that a person is ready to give up their career and apply another job with more attractive salary and more appropriate to his passion are absolutely reasonable. Furthermore, start-up models are becoming more and more widespread with creative self-motivated young people. Secondly, the attitude of old generations towards the sexual discrimination and the gender roles in modern society seems quite backward. It is true that women not only are housewife but also can hold the high position in their job and share the economic burden with their husbands who are considered the breadwinners in the past.
On the other hand, some moral standards of our ancestors will never lose their importance at present and in the future. Honesty, diligence, kindness and cooperation always is the essential baggage which youngsters take with on their life journey, especially when individualistic and moral recession is growing worse and worse and has negative influence on new generation. In addition, patriotism also encourage the youth to strive for national development.
In conclusion, although various opinions of elder generation became “old-fashioned” and no longer suitable at the present time, I believe that some traditional value need to maintain and promote.
