The given diagrams illustrate the life cycle of the silkworm and the manufacture of silk cloth.
Overall, it is evident that a silkworm undergoes 4 physical steps as it grow to maturity. Besides, the under picture indicates that there are 5 main stages involved in the process of the manufacture of silk cloth.
Firstly, in the life cycle of the silkworm it starts from eggs laying on mulberry leaf. In each egg, an embryo develops gradually and normally it takes 10 days for the larva to hatch. They live on a mulberry leaf from 4 to 6 weeks. Then, a larva makes silk thread and after a period of 3 to 6 days a cocoon is completed. Finally, occurs 16 days later, a cocoon hatches a moth and the life cycle therefore starts anew.
Meanwhile, the processing of a silk cloth production begins with selection cocoons stage, they are then boiled in water. After this step, silks are unwound to thread, which is 300 to 900 centimeters in length. The next stages are twist and weave, respectively. In the end of both steps, threads are dyed in a decided color.Attachments:
