The pie chart compares six regions of the world in terms of three different purposes of water usage.
Overall, distributing on domestic accounts for the smallest proportion of water in five areas except South American. In addition, people in Asia, Africa and South American use much water in agriculture than two remaining purposes while European and North American citizens use most of their water for industrial purpose.
Central Asia hold the highest rate of water used for agriculture at exactly 88%. South East Asia, South America and Africa also have the largest demands of water for agricultural use in compared with industrial and domestic use, equivalent to 81%, 84% and 71%, respectively. However, European and North American inhabitants use water most for domestic needs at precisely 53% and 48%, respectively.
The proportion of water for household use is the same in both Central Asia and South East Asia at 7%, the smallest of the six studied areas. Central Asia is also the region which uses water least for industry at only 5%.
