The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used toproduce concrete for building purposes.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words. While the first diagram describes how technically cement is produced, the second one shows the production of concrete from cement.
Overall, there are generally 5 stages in making cement, beginning with crushing limestone and clay and ending with packaging in bags. Consequently, cement is then mixed with sand, gravel and water in order to produce concrete.
A more detailed look at the processes reveals that after being cracked in the crusher, limestone and clay are stirred up and delivered to the rotating heater. There, fire is constantly set so as to melt the powder mixture from the last step. Following this, the product is sent to the grinder before coming to the final stage which is wrapping in bags.
In terms of the concrete production, the ingredients include 15% of cement, 10% of water, 15% of sand and the remainder is gravel. All components are put together in a huge blender which in the end will result in the actual concrete.
