The given charts illustrate the proportion of consumption of water in six different areas over the world which is used for three functions including agriculture, industry and domestic.
Overall, North America and Europe have the largest amount of using water for industrial purposes whereas other countries mostly consume water for agriculture aims.
Looking at the pie charts of North America and Europe, they have same trends in using water for three functions. The percentage of consuming water in industry is the highest figure at 48% in North America and just over a half of 100% in Europe. They also consume water for agriculture at nearly 40%, while domestic use there only accounts for the rest percentage.
Using water for agricultural purposes occupies the largest proportion in South America, Africa, Central and South East Asia. It get higher than 80%, except for South America’s figure is at 71%. In this group of four areas, South East Asia has the highest percentage of water in industry, while Central Asia just uses 5% water for this aim which is the lowest number comparing with other areas.
