WRITING TASK 1 – 2 CHARTS
The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and woman attending various evening courses at an adult education center in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages of these course participants.

The bar chart compares the number of male and female participants of four evening courses at an education center in 2009, while the pie chart shows the proportion of people attending these courses at various age groups.
It is clear that the number of women enrolling these courses was higher than the figure for men, whereas language is the most participated course. Also 50-and-above-year-old people accounted for the highest proportion of attendants.
Looking at the bar chart, we can see that 40 woman were participated in language course, which was as twice as the number of man in this course. Similarly, 10 males and 20 females enrolled on drama course. While the number of people who took part in painting course was 25 men and 30 women, the figures for sculpture were different, with 10 male attendants and the number of female attendants was only a half of the quantity of men.
About the ages of these course participants, the percentage of people who were 50 years old and over attending were 42% of the total. While 26% of attendants were 40-to-49-year-old people, people from 20 to 29 years old and from 30 to 39 years old accounted for 11% and 16% of the total participants respectively. Only 5% of people who enrolled on these evening course was under 20 years old.
