1. The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010.
The maps illustrates the transformation of a village in Stokeford over a 80-year period from 1930 to 2010.
As can be seen from the graph, the village became less green while there was a significantly large area of agricultural land being cut down to give way for residential structures. There was no change with the river and the bridge crossing it.
In the North side, shops and farmland in the West and the East respectively were turned over for extending the road with houses covering along two sides. The position of the post office and the primary school stayed unchanged but the latter doubled in size with two more new buildings in the East.
To turn to the South, the agricultural areas was totally replaced with residential constructions, included of houses and roads. The large house and gardens in the South was redesigned as home for the retired, connected to the village by a road which used to be a path.Attachments:
