Task 1:
The diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity.The diagram illustrates the main stages for manufacturing electricity by geothermal energy. Overall, there are four phases in the process. The process begins with pumping cold water down the injection well, then the cold water is turned into hot water through geothermal zone and the production well. Finally, the hot water goes through the condenser and becomes steam to power the turbine, which is used to run the generator and produce electricity.
To begin, the cold water is pumped down to the injection well, which is located underground with the dept of 4,5 km. Following this, the water goes through the geothermal zone or hot rocks into the production well. Once being in this stage, the cold water is turned into hot water and pumped up to the condenser.
In the subsequent stage, the condenser produces steam by condensing the heat water provided from the phase before. The turbine than is rotated by vitue of steam, which helps functioning the generator and produce electricity for the power plants.Attachments:
