It is important for all towns and cities to have large public spaces such as squares and parks. Do you agree or disagree?
Many people claim that having huge public spaces such as squares and parks is necessary infrastructures for all towns and cities. While it is true that these places are beneficial for citizens to some extent, I would argue that it is not essential for all towns and cities building public areas.
To begine with, there are a number of pros of large public spaces for those who live in towns and cities. First, since these places usually are equipped with a wide rage of fitness equipment, citizens can have a chance to do exercise on a regular basis without having to sign up for gym memberships, which saves a substantial amount of money. This would have a variety of positive impacts on people’s health as these areas can allow them to increase fitness and buil up muscle strength and flexibility, contributing significantly the quality of their lives. Second, because these places are closely associated with a mimic of nature, the trees being planted in the parks can reduce environmental issues such as air and noise pollution. Therefore, people can have a chance to escape from the real life and immerse themselves in the fresh atmosphere, which hepls them develop a higher appriciation for nature.
However, I believe that there are several reasons why huge public spaces are not mandatory in all cities and towns. One of those reasons is that some towns and cities in the world have the limited budget. As a result, the funds should be invested in other essential fields such as education or health systems. In addition, due to global trends of increasing urband migration and population urbanization, people living in towns and cities already outnumber, which increases the demand for housing. If the local authorities build up huge public areas such as squares and parks, it would lead to the shortage of land being errected housing.
In conclusion, while it is true that public areas have some advatages for citizens, I believe that all cities and towns do not necessarily have to build huge public spaces.
