TOPIC: Some people think that in the modern world we are more dependent on each other, while others think that people have become more independent.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Some people argue that the inhabitants nowadays are becoming more self-reliant from each other while the opponents of this idea claim on the reliance and dependency. While there are many factors leading to both sides of this opinion, I believe that the world itself is getting increasingly connective to others.
On the one hand, it is true that some aspects of life have changed and the tendency to be independent is beneficial in many ways including individual and social as the whole. Since the modern technologies have become widely used, many employees are not forced to travel to their workplace, therefore, they are independent on setting up their own schedule. Besides, in the international level, some countries issue policies to impose on their priority over other nations. America, for instance, has rejected some agreement related to trading with their neighbors such as Canada and Mexico.
On the other hand, there are many evidences illustrate that the population are more dependent on one another. Although online-working method has been adopted by some companies, most employers do not support this working style. They claimed on disconnection among employees leading to inefficiency within the internal environment. Moreover, the development in world economy as well as international issues require the cooperation among different nations not any country alone. Dependence is an indispensable element in the growth of the society. For example, North Korea suffers from poverty and isolated because of disconnection with the outside world.
In conclusion, the both side of this view are certain true in their own ways. Nonetheless, I believe that the dependence is taking its dominance in both the society and the world at large.
