The given chart compares four separate appealing sites in Brighton regarding the proportion of visitors to England over a period of 30 years.
Overall, the number of tourists visiting Pavilion and Pier increased over the period shown while the percentage of those who visited Art Gallery and Festival had an downward trend.
In 1980, the proportion of tourists that Pavilion and Art Gallery attract was 24% and 22% respectively. While the figure for Pier was only 10%, which was precisely a third of that for Festival.
In the following 15 years, Art Gallery witnessed intermittent changes in the number of visitors until 1995 when the figure hit the same level as in 1980. In the meantime, the proportion of vistors to Festival moderately fell by 5%. By contrast, the percentage of people spending time in Pavilion rocketed to well under 50% while the figure for Pier had a negligible rise.
In the year 2010, the ratio of tourists visiting Pavilion and Art Gallery took a nosedive to about 30% for the former one and just below a fifth for the latter one.
