In many schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts subjects (eg. languages) and boys choose science subjects (eg. Physics). What do you think are the reasons? Do you think that this tendency should be changed?
It is truthful that arts subjects are more popular to female students while science subjects are chosen mostly by male counterparts. In my opinion, there are several motivations lead to this fact and this tendency should be altered due to a bunch of arguments.
It is reasonable for girls to choose arts subjects and for boys to pick science subjects. Firstly, girls are more sensitive than boys in art field since they have finesse or adroitness while boys are gifted in critical thinking in the science area. For example, female students have a tendency to elaborate their sentences in their essays whereas boys could find out several ways to solve the problems in Maths or Physics. As the result, they select the subjects that in accordance with their abilities or characteristics. Another reason for subject options at school may come from students’ parents who want their children to follow who they would like their children to become in the future. To be precise, a girl could be advised to become a artists or musicians as these jobs do not require strength or facing with danger.
In my view, it is preferable to have a change to this tendency. Initially, students have the right to choose the environment where they can best cultivate their aptitudes, they could not learn the subjects that they do not really prefer. For instance, if a boy has special and gifted skills in arts, he should be able to fulfill his dream of attending art classes and not to waste his talent. Moreover, a country which does not have the laystall of arts subjects are for female while science subjects are for the male is more respectful since the liberty is highly appreciated in that country.
In conclusion, there are many factors could be blamed for the trend of arts subjects are for girls whereas science subjects are for boys and this tendency should be changed due to some reasons
