The graphs compares two separate years 1900 and 2000 in terms of the quantity of inhabitants grouped in different areas.
Overall, the global population rocketed from 1.6 billion to 6 billion between two given years. The number of people living in Asia and Europe accounted for the highest proportion in both years, though the ratio decreased over time while the other categories comprises higher proportion.
In 1900, the rate of Asian people was three-fifths, while the equivalent figure for Europe was precisely a quarter. During the following century, both of them experienced a slight fall by 6% and 11% respectively.
By contrast, the percentage of population in Africa minimally rose by 7% over the 100-year-period. Likewise, the figure for Latin America moderately climb from 3% to 8% with additional inclusion of Caribbean inhabitants in 2000. Also, the year 2000 saw the appearance of Middle East and North Africa residents which made up 6% of world population. In both given years, population of other countries took only 3%.
