Student learn far more with their teachers than other sources( internet or television), To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Over the past few decades, education for the youth has been always a headache issue among the public. Some adopt a view that students should only focus on knowledge from teachers, opponents make a case for other learning sources such as the Internet or television. From my perspective, both educators and online channels have their own benefits for pupils.
On the one hand, the advent of the Internet and television have facilitated modern education significantly in recent years. Being regarded as a source of countless information, the Internet is being accessed by almost all students around the world to look up studying materials, watch illustrative videos of lessons or do online tests. With learner-oriented programs, the television can also contribute to broaden pupils’ horizons. Thanks to these channels, students nowadays are able to learn all fields from science to society without sitting in boring classrooms. Discovery Channel, a good example for merits of learning through TV, usually provides viewers with knowledge about habitat which is rarely taught by school educators.
On the other hand, students who only rely on teachers are not really learning, but without teachers, students will be surely lost. Although they are an not encyclopedia for pupils to search all things, teachers are indispensable and irreplaceable in some cases. Learners can understand new concepts and complicated calculations more quickly and easily through explanations of knowledge providers, which cannot be acquired via inanimate machines. Moreover, information recipients at school can get inspiration and motivation to study effectively from interpersonal interaction with their teachers. Not only theoretical knowledge, but such educators can impart life experience for their learners as well, which is essential for students in the future.
In conclusion, teachers and other studying sources are not competitive, but complementary to each other. In my opinion, students should take full advantages from both to achieve the best academic performance.
