Task 1: The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about
consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 wth projections until 2030.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
make comparisons where relevant.

Writing:

The line graph shows how the energy consumed in America in 1980 with
expectations to year 2030.

It is obvious that the fossil fuel such as petrol and oil, coal, natural
gas are much more popular in use than the nuclear and renewable energy.

In 1980, the use of petrol and oil was at 35 quadrillion units which was
1,5 times higher than natural gas and roughly doubled the consumption of
coal. From 1980 to 1995, while petrol and oil and natural gas rather
fluctuated, coal rose steadily these years. After that, all of these
sources would be expected to have a stable rising trend until 2030,
especially petrol and oil would make a sharp increase over 45 quadrillion
units in 2030.

In contrast, nuclear, soclar/wind and hydro power all made a negligible
consumption at over 4 quadrillion units in 1980. Among these, when nuclear
and solar/wind would see an inconsiderable rise until 2030, hydropower
would drop in future and even less than the using amount in 1980.
