The diagram below illustrates the carbon cycle in nature.

The flow chart illustrates the natural transformation of carbon. Overall,
the cycle of this substance experiences some steps initiating from
absorbing sunlight by plants.
To begin with, energy from sun turns into organic carbon thanks to the
photosynthesis process of trees. In the subsequent step, a part of this
substance can be trapped underground together with dead organisms and waste
products. After a certain time, the compound can be changed into fossils
and fossil fuels. The remaining amount of organic carbon is released back
into the atmosphere in different forms. While the first way involving the
respiration process of animals and plant roots, the second one is adherence
to emissions produced by cars and factories. The substance deriving from
two methods enters the air in form of CO2. Before starting a new carbon
cycle, the CO2 is reabsorbed by plants. Strikingly, activities conducted by
human beings partly contribute to quicken the natural process.
