The pie charts compare high-income group with low-income group in terms of the percentage of monthly income used in seven different categories in a specific European nation.
Overall, this country saw a difference of spending between the rich and the poor. It is evident that while people with low income spend much their money on basic human needs, the wealthy allocated their earnings to different purposes in more balance ways.
First of all, it is true that poor people spent 53 % of their income on daily demands, including 29 % for nutrition-related products and 24 % for energy cost. In contrast, the rich had the significantly smaller expenditure on the same needs, only 15% for food & drink and 7% for fuel bill. Instead, the high income group tended to use a large proportion of earning on entertainment & spiritual activities and miscellaneous, accounting for 21 % and 23 % respectively, compared to 11 % and 18 % of the low income individuals
Likewise, while the rich spent 12 % of income on restaurants & hotels and 16 % on transport, the figures for the poor spending on the same purposes were 4 % and 9 %. Finally, the other striking remark was that both groups had the relatively similar figures for the clothing products, representing for 6 % in high-income group and 5% in low-income one.
