Many people go to university for academic study. More people should be encouraged to do vocational training because there is lack of qualified workers such as electricians and plumbers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that doing a training during a vacation is a good way to help student get higher level of job quality. While I accept that vocational training is valuable, I believe that students have other activities that they want to do with.
On the one hand, there are a variety of reasons why people should take the courses. One reason is that it helps young people improve their specialized knowledge. If a person who study in tourism, he would probably need to practice what he has learnt last semester to strengthen the skills of serving guests. Furthermore, doing vocational training creates more job opportunities for fresh graduates. Firstly, getting all training needed for a certain job help light up their resume. Secondly, vocational training is a vital firm foundation for young people get ready for work, especially for those jobs require a fairly high level of complexity, such as cooks, engineers… Trainees are usually adapt to the work environment faster and also get promotion relatively easy.
On the other hand, people should spend their holiday time doing what is really mean to them. One reason is that after a very hard-working semester, students should take a break to refresh and rebuilding themselves. There are many students who’re staying far away from their family and the holiday season is a great time of reunion. Secondly, many young people want to have real experience by taking a temporary job in order to support their family.
In conclusion, it is certain true that taking a vocational training is necessary rather than focus on academic education only, but there are a variety ways to get training apart from doing vocational training.
