The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005.
The line graph provides information about the expenditure on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria from 1995 to 2005.
Overall, it is clear that people in Germany spent more on books than those in the other three countries. However, spending on books increased significantly in all four countries over the period of 10 years.
As can be seen from the graph, in 1995, $80 million was spent on books in Germany, standing at highest of all. The spending figures for France and Italy were similar in 1995, at $55 million and $50 million, respectively, whereas the figure for Austria was much lower at just $30 million. Despite some minor fluctuations, the spending on books in Germany continued to be higher than those in the other 3 countries throughout the period, and this then reached a peak of almost $100 million in 2005.
There was a steady increase in the expenditure on books in France, and this finally stood at $75 million in 2005. This was similar for the figure in Austria, but this then rose sharply from $40 million in 2001 to around $75 million in 2005, slightly lower than that in France. In Italy, the spending figure on books increased gradually, and this reached at about $65 million in 2005.Attachments:
