The picture illustrates the process of gathering and analyzing weather information adopted by Australian Bureau of Meterology to deliver forecasts with the level of accuracy as highest as possible.
Overall, the method includes 3 mains steps, beginning with the collection of incoming information through several equipments and ending with broadcast programs delivered to the public.
Looking at the first stage, there are 3 main ways to obtain information, which are through satellite, radar and drifting buoy. Information gotten from satellite is presented in a form of satellite photo, while the two remaining equiptment provide radar screen and synoptic chart. All data is then analyzed to forecasted the weather.
At the next step, computers are employed to make broadcast programs ready. Following this, output information is conveyed in the form of either image or sound, or both. Then, viewers and audiences can update information on weather forecasts via TV newsreader, radio as well as recorded announcement.
