The charts below show the result of a survey of adult education. The first chart shows the reason why adults decide to study. The pie chart shows how people think the costs of adult education should be shared.
The bar chart provides information about the factors that caused adults to continue their education, while the pie chart illustrates the public opinion regarding the cost-sharing for adult education.
Generally, the interest in subject and gaining qualifications are the top of reasons for adults’ decision to continue their education and the largest portion of study cost must be borne by the individual.
As can be seen from the bar chart, interest in subjects has the highest result in the survey with 40 percent of the total outcome. It is closely followed by the reason to gain qualifications with just only 2% difference at 38%. Around 20% adults study because they find it helpful for their job while the same percentage of people study for their career prospect and interest in learning new things. However, only 12% people continue their studies so that they can change their job. The least percentage of adults (around 9%) gets enrolled in education because they think this is helpful for meeting new people.
As the pie chart shows, the largest sector of the total, 40%, represents the people who think that individuals should pay for their study. Besides that, 35% adults state that the employers and the remaining 25% consider that taxpayers should pay the cost of the adult study.
