Some people argue that global organizations must issue some rules to force all nations to diminish their usage of fossil fuels such as petrol or diesel. Personally, I strongly agree with this viewpoint for several reasons.
On the one hand, there are many negative outcomes resulted from the overconsumption of fossil fuels. Firstly, fossil fuels is one of primary factors leading to rapidly increasing pollution. When fossil fuels are used to produce electricity or power cars, toxic substances such as carbon are also released, which contributes to the greenhouse effect. Secondly, the excessive use of fossil fuels adversely affect the sustainable development of human. The reason is that while the creation of fossil fuels takes hundreds of years, the consumption is only the matter of hours. Given a significant increase of population and industrial activities, if we do not reduce the amount of fossil fuels consumed on global, such fuels will not be available in the future.
On the other hand, there are other energy resources – renewable energy resources which can deal with threats posed by fossil fuels. Those enery resources are regarded as eco-friendly solutions for pollution. Applications of sustainable energy resources are beneficial for human health not only in the short term but also in the long term. The use of solar or wind powers does not produce substances polluting the environment. In addition, such energy can be totally renewed, thus ensure the development of people’s next generations.
In conclusion, I am convinced that transnational groups should impose regulations on all countries to minimize the amount of fossil fuels consumed.
