The table below gives information about the underground railway
systems in six cities.
The table compares six cities which are London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles in terms of the underground railway system.
Overall, London, Paris and Tokyo have metro systems which more develop than others. Besides, the more sooner system opened, the longer route is, except for Kyoto.
London is the city which both have the oldest system and longest route. This system was built in 1863 with 394 kilometres of route, so it was longer almost as twice as the one in Paris, with 199 kilometres. However, despite building later, the metro system in Tokyo serves the largest passengers, with 1927 million visitors each year.
Compared to Tokyo, the underground railway system in Washington DC was constructed later 51 years, with 126 kilometres and was just visited by 144 million people each year.
Moreover, the shortest route is the system in Kyoto which serves the least passengers, 45 million people. Finally, the newest metro system is in Los Angeles with 28 kilometres of route and just 50 million visitors use it per yearAttachments:
