Topic: everybody should become a vegetarian because eating meat can cause serious health problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In recent years, an increasing number of people are interested in becoming vegetarian instead of eating meat. This tendency certainly has both merits and demerits, which will be discussed in this essay. In my opinion, it will be more effective should we eat meat and combine more kind of fresh vegetables.
On the one hand, there are many worthy benefits of being a vegetarian. Firstly, when a person who adopts plant-based diet, he will has a good health and lifestyle. In fact, many ingredients of vegetarian food are low in fat and high in fiber such as potatoes, cucumber, etc. Therefore, it can prevent them from potential diseases such as obesity, diabetes or heart attack. Secondly, this trend is seen as an ethical decision. It is argued that about the animal rights. People consume that it is selfish and immoral for humans to kill animals for foods.
On the other hand, there are some reasons why we can not force all people to become vegetarians. Firstly, strict vegans might be missing on some of the nutrients that takes from meats such as omega 3 or iron which are necessary for the health of human. While there are many good resources to replace for vegetarians, the bioavailability of that is lesser compared to meat-contained meals. Furthermore, human rights to be what they want to become.
In conclusion, it is better when we have a balance meals between vegetables and other kinds of meat. Leaning red meat, eat it in moderation, can be a healthful part of a balanced diet.
