The bar chart depicts the proportion of four main vehicles utilized in European metropolis from 1960 to 2000.

Overall, it is conspicuous that while the tendency of driving car is remarkably upward, that of taking a bus is vice versa, simultaneously, the two others fluctuated.

To commence with, standing at the lowest position at approximately seven percent in 1960, the ratio of cars’ utilization nearly tripled in two decades later, before reaching the peak at just under a fifth which is similar to the portion of bus usage in 1960. Conversely, the bus which was the predominant option in 1960 accounted for merely over a quarter, continuing to drop by roundly ten percent two decades later.

Of all of the main transportations, the utilization of train and tube which showed volatile patterns made up merely 18% and 26% in 1960, respectively. The former revealed a steady growth in 1980, followed by a slight deterioration. At the same periods of time, the percentage the latter dropped by about three percent, and eventually climbed to a quarter.
