* Many foods are shipped from far away. Some people think that eating local food is more environmentally and economically. Do you think the advantages outweigh its disadvantages.
Nowadays, people tend to use food from their own areas rather than food distribution because of environment and economic benefits. Personally, I totally agree with this statement.
There are a wide range of reasons why local farming food usually becomes an optimal choice. Firstly, it seems like an optimal solution for the environment during this industrial civilization when pollution is the most alternative problem. Clearly, without the huge amount of pesticide as well as fertile, not only the soil but also the insect can be developed naturally, so the cycle life of creatures and the ecological balance can also be maintained. Besides, transferring food from one place to place requires the considerable fuel, which is both wasted for the valuable energy and worse for the air because of the vehicle emission.
Secondly, using local food also contributes a great deal of not only economic but also health advantage. On the one hand, buying locally grown food can be cheaper than others because it does not count on shipping fee which is usually fluctuated due to fuel surcharge. Furthermore, costumers set their mind at rest for the safety and quality of product because they know its origin as well as the people who grow it. Finally, because of the short distance from the store to home, it tastes better and lasts longer without using any preservatives.
In conclusion, it appears that people will tend to eat local food because it meets the requirements for three main elements like: health, economic and environment.
