In recent decades, the issue of local museums are not frequented by local people has been receiving a great deal of public attention. Although this problem can be attributed to a whole host of reasons, some feasible solutions should be taken into account to address this.
There are a number of reasons for this trend. First, since the region’s historical relics became so familiar to the locals, they are no longer inlined to explore more. In fact, natives or students have been conveyed about historical information, such as war or relics, through schools or mass media, discouraging them from learning more about these places. Second, by living near historical museums, the locals tend to procrastinate the visit. This means they are not aware of the importance of visits to historical sites, taking them for granted, sad but true.
Nevertheless, there are a variety of solutions to encourage local people to visit these sites. First, in order to capture locals’attention, historians and preservationists should be featured more frequently on the media, with their articles on the tremendous worth of museums and historical remains. As a result, this could raise the locals’awareness about museums and historical places surrounding them. Second, we should change the public’s perception of such places as sites for only monotonous activities. Should civic events including weddings, anniversaries and concerts be allowed to be held in these locations, they would attract substantial public attention to historical values.
In conclusion, although local people’s low attendance at these attractions is a dilemma, there are many workable appoaches to tackle it. By considering media, and using such locations as for more public-oriented activities, this issues can be better in the future.Attachments:
