The graph provides the information on the amount of carbon dioxide released by a person in the four countries consisting of United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.

Overall, the average carbon dioxide emission in Italy and Portugal increased while United Kingdom and Sweden experienced a decrease in the figures.

Looking in more detail,, Portugal was seen as the least CO2- releasing country among the three presented in 1967. 30 years later, ,the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in Portugal and Italy increased dramatically to around 5 metric tonnes and 7 metric tonnes, respectively. Over 10-year period, both countries remained the stability. The other two countries were on a sharp decline over the period. From 1967 to 1977, Sweden suffered a significant increase in the amount of carbon dioxide released and then reached its peak at roughly over 10 metric tonnes. In the following years, this figure continued to decrease and ended at the same point as Portugal, 4.5 metric tonnes. United Kingdom decreased gradually over the period, from over 10 to over 9 metric tonnes.
