The pie charts depict the percentage of energy generated in a particular country and how these figures changed during the 20-year period, commencing 1983.

Overall, it is clear that oil is the most popular source of energy in both years despite a slight reduction. By contrast, hydropower accounted for the lowest percentage among five sectors during the period shown.

In the year 1983, this country generated oil more than all other sources of energy, at 42%, and this figure was approximately twice as much as that for nuclear power. Meantime, the proportion of coal ranked second with 23%, the figures for natural gas and hydropower were lower, at 11% and 4% respectively.

In 2003, although a 4% decline, oil still made up the highest percentage, nuclear power overtook coal as the second most source of energy generated. 21% of the energy produced as natural gas, which was 8% higher in comparison to coal. Additionally, the proportion of hydropower remained stability after 20 years.
