The pie charts illustrate main reasons why people came to and left the UK in 2007.
It is clear that there had a wide range of reasons that people migrate to/from the UK in 2007 and it is also noticeable that the majority of people immigrate to or emigrate from the UK because of definite job.
In 2007, 30% of people immigrated to the UK for the purpose of the definite job, followed by the percentages of formal study and accompany, with 26% and 15% respectively. While the proportion of immigrant people with the aim of looking for work or other was almost the same, at 12% and 11% respectively, the figure for no reason why they come to the UK was just 6%
In terms of emigration of people from the UK, the highest percentage of emigrants was seen in the reason of definite job, at 29%, which was higher than that for the purpose of looking for work or no reason stated, at 22% and 18% respectively. 13% of UK people emigrated due to the the rationale of accompany, compared to 14% of other reasons. The percentage of people left the UK with the aim of formal study was the lowest, at 4%.Attachments:
