The consumption of the world’s resources ( oil, and water etc. ) is increasing at a danberous rate . what are causes and solutions ?
It is true that the depletion of global resources is going up at a alarming rate. There are some reasons for these issues and solutions should be attempted to solve the problems .
There are three main causes of overconsumption of natural resources . Firstly, many countries , especially developing countries , are using a huge number of natural resources , such as oil and water , to drive their economy, expand production and improve substructure . Secondly , resources use for individual needs are increasing more and more because of the improvement in living standard . As people become wealthier, their demand for natural resources also increases , in term of gas for private cars, electricity for bigger houses , etc. . Finally , the high cost and unpopularity of alternative energy such as wind or solar power lead to a lack of investment into these renewable resources .
Some measures should be take to reduce the overuse of natural resources . One of the solutions is that governments should impose a higher tax on the use of natural resources .By rising tax , both the demand for production use of these resources and individual use will decrease . For example , when the cost of gas go up , people tend to use public transport such as bus or subway instead of private vehicles . Another solution is that government should invest more to develop and introduce renewable resources like wind or wave power as alternatives . These clean energies not only minimize the dependence on natural resources but also protect the environment. Finally, more campaigns should be hosted to educate people the importance of saving energy . Even simple things like not leaving taps running or lights switched on unnecessarily can help reduce the pressure on natural resources consumption.
In conclusion, the overuse of the world’s resources is becoming a crucial problem and solutions should be taken immediately to solve the issues .
