The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.The graph illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide emissions in metric tonnes of a person in four separate countries over 40-year period.
It is clear that the figure for carbon dioxide emissions per person in Italy and Portugal rose from 1967 to 2007, whereas their counterparts in the United Kingdom and Sweden increased.
In the year 1967, the average carbon dioxide emissions per person in United Kingdom was the highest figure at around 11 tonnes, compared to about 8.4, 4.2 and 1.1 tonnes respectively in Sweden, Italy and Portugal. By 2007, the figure of carbon dioxide emissions per person in the United Kingdom was approximately 8.3 tonnes, while there was an increase in two nations namely Italy and Portugal to around 7.9 and 5.8 tonnes respectively.
In Sweden, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions per person had rose to 10.1 tonnes in 1977 before falling rapidly to 5.8 tonnes which was the same figure with Portugal in 2007.Attachments:
