Many people believe that international tourism is a bad thing for their country. What are the reasons ? Solutions to change negative attitudes ?

Nowadays, we are living under globalization, which promotes the development of tourism around the word. However, local people believe this trend brings a lot of negative impacts on their society and culture. In this essay, I would like to discuss this issues from different aspects and show my solutions.

There are tow main reasons that why local residents often argued foreign visitors as a cause of serious problem in their country. Firstly, when international people visit some tourist attractions they may wear unsuitable clothing. In the Eastern countries, this is extremely trouble when you wear unsuitable clothing to visit spiritual tourist attractions such as the museum, temple and pagoda. Secondly, in the Western culture, rowdyism could be normal but in the Eastern culture that would be impolite and you will get trouble. Some foreign people talked loudly while they visited The War Museum in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, local people think that it is lack of respect for Vietnamese history and culture, Tuoi Tre News asserted.

Measures should be taken by governments and international people to change negative impacts. The government make sure that they widely promote foreign tourists to raise awareness about local culture. Moreover, the government have to enforce strict regulations on protecting culture heritages and intangible culture heritages. Example, HCMC Tourism Organization is the successful group in Ho Chi Minh City, international people and local residents do philanthropic actions to help unfortunate people and rebuild some historical architectures.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the government, local people and international visitors must cooperate to reduce disadvantage impact, which is the good avenue to sustainably develop in tourism.
