The given pie charts present the figures for energy in five major sources namely oil, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric power and nuclear power used in America in two selected years.
Overall, it is clear that the portion of oil was the largest source of energy in both years. In addition, Americans used more coal and nuclear power in their life.
The chart in 1980 illustrates that 42% of oil was the largest percentage in total sources of energy. Although this rate dropped to only 33% in 1990 but it still accounted for the most of total energy. In the same downward trend, natural gas declined slightly, from 26% to 25%, a decrease of 1% over the period.
Also in this same period in the US, there was an increase of 5% in using coal as well as nuclear power, 22% to 27% and 5% to 10% repestively. In terms of hydroelectric power, this rate was the same 5% in both 1980 and 1990 and covered the least of total energy.Attachments:
