INTERNET USERS AS PERCENTAGE OF POPULATION

The line graph compares the differences in the proportions of the Internet Usage in USA, Canada and Mexico from 1999 to 2009.
It is clear that the three nations were all similar in terms of upwards trend, with Canada increasing significantly over the period. Mexico’s figures were much lower than the two other countries’ in every year.
In 1999, USA’s internet users `percentage was the highest, at 20%, followed by 10% of Canada and 5% of Mexico. However, in 2003, the figure for Canada increased dramatically to 50%, surpassing that of USA, which rose to about 40%.
In 2005, Canada’s trend was set to continue with a dramatic growth by 40%, reaching its peak of over 90%. USA still came to second, increasing to 80%. Besides, Mexico’s proportion remained the lowest with 50% of population gaining access to Internet.
