The pie charts illustrate the percentage of students who used five different means of transportation to travel to a particular university during the years (2004, 2009).
Overall, in both surveyed years, a vast majority of people used car and bus as the main methods of transport, while the proportions of train and walking just constituted minor rates.
In 2004, more than a half of people went to university by car, followed by bus with nearly a third of total. Conversely, there were reverse trends in 2009, in which 46% of students travelled by bus and only 28% of people drove their own cars to go to school. Furthermore, in comparison to 9% of students who cycled to school in 2004, the figure for bicycle in 2009 was up to 16%.
Regarding to train, there was no significant change from 2004 to 2009 with only 3% and 4% respectively. Besides, starting at 4% in 2004, the percentage of people who took a walk to school witnessed a slightly growth to 6% in the end of the period.
